Joy Kinney MSR CCC-SLP
Founder and owner of Speech-Language Pathology Associates of South Carolina, LLC. A licensed Speech-Language Pathologist, she specializes in treating adults with neurological disorders, including communication, swallowing, and cognitive challenges related to traumatic brain injury, stroke, and other conditions affecting the brain. She completed a Master’s degree from the Medical University of South Carolina and a Bachelor’s degree from Columbia College of South Carolina. She holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and is a Certified SPEAK OUT!® Provider.

Meet the Team
Timothy Kinney
Co-owner of Speech-Language Pathology Associates of South Carolina, LLC. He works full-time at the South Carolina Department of Environmental Services. He is a graduate of the Leadership Excellence and Achievement Program (LEAP) and is the 2022 Recipient of the LEAP Character Award. He is a 2005 graduate of Erskine College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Behavioral Science.
Twix
Rescued from Lexington County Animal Services in 2020, and she is a six-year-old mixed breed with a gentle spirit and a quiet connection. She’s currently working toward her therapy dog certification with Dog Training Elite Midlands SC. Once certified, Twix will offer emotional support and assist with communication retraining for individuals recovering from stroke or traumatic brain injury, bringing comfort, motivation, and a few tail wags along the way.
Snickers
A gentle and affectionate companion with a calm demeanor and a love for people. He enjoys learning new skills through ongoing training and has a friendly personality that helps put others at ease. With his happy spirit and comforting presence, Snickers brings smiles, encouragement, and warmth to everyone he meets.
Belle Bernido
Virtual Assistant for Speech-Language Pathology Associates of South Carolina. She manages the clinic's administrative tasks. Belle is committed to providing a warm, welcoming experience and making sure everyone feels supported from their very first interaction with the clinic.
